Quick summary of what to expect
Bags larger than A4 must be left in the cloakroom or lockers — both are free. Backpacks must always be carried in front.
Allowed without flash for personal use. Tripods, monopods and selfie sticks are not permitted.
Not allowed in the galleries. Eat in the Rijksmuseum Café, the Atrium area, or the garden.
Keep voices low, do not touch the artworks, and stay behind the floor lines — they are set for the paintings' safety.
